CatBack with Glasspacks

I have a catback exhaust exiting out the back and its not loud enough, I was wondering how loud would my truck be if i just changed out the borla exhaust and put in a glasspack? Does anyone know where to buy glasspacks at? Since i have a catback exhaust would i need to get the 1 in 2 out or just the straight muffler?

Borlas are quiet, so yes, glasspacks would be louder. The borlas that I've examined have a lazy S shaped internal pipe that would eliminate the possibility of slipping a pipe through them. As with most straight-through design mufflers, length and case size will dictate sound level. I would skip "old school" mild steel glasspacks and stick with stainless steel products. IMO, for a loud, throaty sound, a better alternative would be a short, SS Dynomax Ultraflow. Maybe you could sell the Borla muffler to a member here that wants a quality, quiet muffler.

Yes, Borlas are quiet and Ultraflows are loud. They have a throaty, muscular sound like a Z-28 or Mustang on steroids. With the factory multi-cat setup in place, you have to get an extremely loud muffler to get a mean rumble. You need the smallest case (less packing), in the shortest length, in your pipe size of choice. You can read up on them here:

...and buy them here:

I recently put Dynomax glasspacks w/ a Magnaflow x-pipe on & it sounds pretty good. It's got a deep growl to it but not obnoxiusly loud all the time. I went throught Jeg's they were pretty reasonable. Product + install = about $250. Good luck.
