Magmaflow Muffler

Hello. I think I am going to go with a magmaflow muffler, and then put a tip on it. But I was just wondering. What kind of magmaflow muffler should I put on it? I know there are many different types. I have a 4.6 engine, on my 2001 2WD F150 supercrew. All help is awesome!
Thanks

Man... It's pointless to ask this... I have been BAFFLED by the posts on this site... I can't decide what to run on my 4.6 and I want about the same sound volume you do... I *THINK* I have it pegged to a magnaflow 18" or a flowmaster delta 40... Both cost the same and I am doing the install if I cant afford the 50bux it cost to have it installed... I am just dumping it at the axle... My $0.02 man... Good luck...

Jon

Hey......nice magmaflow!

I have an '05 Super Crew, 2wd, auto and 5.4. I bought a 18" from Performance Peddler. I had it installed with the factory pipes. Love the sound, no major difference in mpg or performance, both may have improved.
I wanted just what you described and I am very pleased.

14" magmaflow

I had installed a 5x8x14" magmaflow on mt 2005 5.4l 4x2 Scab. It is the aluminized variety because I am anticipating a catback once hobby funds are more plentiful - I just ordered an Xcal2 from Troyer.

I almost love the sound. It gives a little rumble/roar when starting and has plenty of smooth rumble when accelerating and very little drone when cruising. I have the stock pipe on it with no tip.

Any ideas what tip might make the sound a little more throaty (mustang like)?

This is a nice, molten muffler.

I had a flowmaster 40 si/do with the pipes exiting straight out on mine until the welds on tail pipes rusted off at the exit of the muffler. It lasted about 5 years. That's pretty good for an all aluminized exhaust that sees road salt and/or chemicals. So you'll have plenty of time to save for that stainless system.

This week I'm getting a stainless 5x8x14 si/do magnaflow muffler, and two 3"x18" stainless magnaflow 45* slant cut tips. Then I'll have a muffler shop run some 2.25" pipes straight out the back.

I've still got the old flowmaster with a rust hole in it on right now with some turndowns. It sounds like crud. I can't wait to get that new exhaust put on.

You need a good 3"x18" tip. It makes it rumble a little more.

Go to fulllineexhaust.com. They have everything you'd ever want that has to do with exhaust, and alot more. They have a good deal on stainless magnaflow truck/suv tips. Look down to the box to your left after you click the link, and click on "shop online at our store". They have an 800# you can call to place orders too.

Thanks! They have good prices on the tips - much better than HottExhaust. Their catbacks are reduced but not as much as HottExhaust w/coupon. Do you know if Full Line Exhaust offers coupons or forum discounts?

I think I will do the 3"x18" Magnaflow tip.
