JBA Header on 5.4 3V

Does anyone have some honest feedback on JBA headers on the newer 5.4 3V.How was the install? HP &TQ,are they worth the $ 650-$800?
Thanks in advance

I am interested in some headers too. I just confused on different types of headers and the matterials they are made of. I have found some for $300 (Pacesetter) and $500 (Gibson). Is there a difference? Performance? Are they easy to install? Can I do it? Do I need to buy another Y pipe?

Just received my dyno request from JBA,using Header & their exhaust on 2004 5.4 3V.

Peak gain-20 hp@4900 22ft@3200
Greatest gain-25hp@3100 44ft@2800

I looked at their install instructions specific to the 5.4 3V on their website.I will do it myself.Driver side looks easy and the passenger side involves some swearing. We still have cold and snow here. Its something I will do when spring arrives.

Did they send you an actual dyno sheet? or did they quote numbers. I know a lot of times, they (not neccessarily JBA) will "sneak" in another mod to make their gains more impressive.

Yes they sent me the dyno sheet. I'm kinda new to computers and do not know how to post it,so I just posted the numbers. All looks good with good torque gains down low.It wouldn't surprise me that they might have added other mods. We shall see how they preform.

I am also interested in the stage-8 locking bolts that you used.I've had aftermarket header bolts come loose in the past, and prefer to avoid that.Could you please tell me the stage-8 bolt size needed and possibly where you got them.
Thanks in advance

There are some good under $300 headers for the 5.4 on ebay

Prepare to make sailors turn blue when you install them though!

The Stage8 kit I had was the normal 4.6/5.4 locking header bolts for the Modular engine. I was the first to install them supposedly on the newer truck, and I had an older revision of the package which didn't have the longer locking tabs on them. They shipped them to me free of charge, I just had to figure out how much longer I needed. The tech told me they were going to revise the package again to include them, don't know if they did or not. That's fine with me though, because it allowed me to tighten them all down, run the truck for a while, then retighten and lock em up.

A few things here guys...They are all t-409 Stainless. Their only difference is their coatings, i.e. polished, chrome, ceramic, or titanium ceramic. I went with the titatnium ceramic. Pacesetter are 's' in my opinion---they're cheapest for a reason. And just a little word, JBA specializes in Ford Applications. You go to their shop and everyone owns a mustang, ranger, or F150---swear to jeebus--Their shop vehicle is an F350 dually! In other words they know their stuff....

Are they easy to install? Can I do it? Do I need to buy another Y pipe?
Devilsun can better explain than I can, the ins and outs of installing the headers. I had mine done at the shop---however fortunately. They had a magazine their to document the whole deal and it just came out a few days ago. It has a step by step picture-article of exactly how they did it. (good for reference). I have more details on the thread I started HERE

Hope that helps, I'm off to the shop now to get a retorque on the headers. I'll be baclk with the audio I've been promissing!!
