Difference with magnaflow cats?

I have an Exilerator cat back system on my 5.4, that was installed about a year ago. It sounds nice, but i would like it a little louder. So my question is if i bought some magnaflow cats, what should i expect? Will there be any drawbacks?

Also what model, size, etc should i get?

I used the magnaflow cats on my dual system. The particular ones I used were designed for a jeep 6 cylinder motor. I did this for higher flow. I have had no issues whatsoever from them in about a year of use. Here is a picture of one of them. ITs a 2.5 connected to 3 inch pipe

I'll probably get what is designed for my truck but what was the difference in sound?

Ive seen some on ebay for a good price, i might buy them from their and take them to a local shop to get them put on, just need to find out what kind i need.

Ive done a little research on the forum and have found...
Magnaflow 2.50" IN/OUT High Flow Catalytic Converter - Oval 2.5" High-Performance Catalytic Converter w/mirror-polished heat shield. Part# 94306

https://www.f150online.com/forums/li...atalogno=94306
But I also found another one on ebay

Magnaflow 2.5 High Flow Cat short oval but with a Part#94106.

Does anybody know if they are the same.

Do I need to do any other mod to the vehicle other than replacing the four stock cats with two of these. And if i took them to a local shop to get them installed, they would know where to put the new ones, right?

Im going to call troyer tomarow about these questions, but if anybody knows, it will be appreciated.

o well, supposedly its illegal to change cats in my state without the old one going bad, something about a 5 year jail sentence? so I think I will just get a flowmaster muffler put on and take off my xlerator muffler.

Its never illegal to change them, just illegal to eliminate them altogether. Newer cats would perform their intended function better.
