New Magnaflow just installed

I have a 04' red F150 4.6L and got the Si/Do magnaflow and am very pleased.. Not too loud but defiantley enough to turn some heads and that is all I was after.. I did do something a little different though, I got black plated tips. i think it looks awesome considering I don't have chrome bumbers, they are actually red and black.. I will try to get some pics up in the future.

If you don't have a 04+ 5.4L, people around here kind of nudge you to the side like your not worthy. I own a 4.2L v6, and I can count on one hand how many people talk to me on here when I post something. And I've been here since 2002. If you don't have the best, you can't run with the rest.

That's not true, I have a 05 4.6 and get help whenever I ask for it. You get alot more help if you post the V6 questions in the V6 board though. Congrats on the Magnaflow, I have the SI/DO exiting before passenger tire and love it. I should have got Black tips but didn't think about it at the time, I have an all-black even the bumpers.

i just had the 14" installed and love it so far...but it isn't burnt in yet...so it might get too loud..not sure yet. everyone told me the 14" would be really loud....so far it is just perfect. no drone inside the truck at all...

I think the reason why people don't get many replies is because if you do a search on exhuast questions...alot of them have been asked before...and over and over...so the people that have been on here a while stop answering.....only thing i can figure anyway...

love my magnaflow so far!

The oval mufflers sound better to me than the round ones. Round ones tend to pop like a glasspack more than an oval type. The 5"x8" si/do 18" would be perfect if you want it fairly quiet at idle, and have a performance sound when you mash the gas. If you want it a little louder in both aspects, go with the 14". The smaller mufflers are louder.

I think I am gonna go si/so 18" magnaflow... I plan to install it myself as I am a pretty good welder... Is it best to get a 2.5 in" in/out or should I get 2.25 so it will slide into my 2.5" pipes? I think with it dumped over and behind the axle, it will rumble well for me... Thanks

Jon

I'd stay with 2.50". Just go to autozone or somewhere and get a few 2.50" to 2.50" couplers.

Those are expensive and I have access to a welder. In this case, would I need smaller in/outlets? Thanks again.

Sorry for the late reply. I'd call the manufacturer just to make sure, but I think they make the inlets/outlets just a little bit smaller or larger so the corresponding sized exhaust pipe will fit on it. Or at least that what I was told recently.
