Side exit, read exit, or dumped?

I currently have a Magnaflow SI/DO on my 04 Lariat. The pipes run straight out the back. I love the sound! But, as most of us, I am always looking for things to change.

How much should I expect an exhaust shop to charge if I had them run the pipes out the passenger side just before the rear tire (similar to the lightning setup)? Would this make the exhaust seem quieter (to me) since the tips would be on the other side of the truck?

How much of a difference in sound would it make if I chopped of the pipes just after the muffler and turned them down?

Mine being out the sound, makes it seem louder inside the cab, then before when they were out the back. I love it.

i think it is louder out the side (inside the cab) and also i had a local shop charge me $230 and $100 was to the tips and another $100 was for the muffler. they dont have to run much pipe at all.
