Who has this kind on there truck. I'm thinking of getting this for my 05 Screw with the 5.5 bed. It says it's for the short bed. DOes this mean it's for the 6.5 bed or does mine qualify as the short bed. They say it's for the Extended cab/ Crew-cab with the short bed. Is this the right system for my truck.

Hi James,
Yes, this is the system I put on my 05 King Ranch Supercrew. I bought mine form hotexhaust.com for $393 shipped!!! You need to enter the code "fordtruck" to get this discount. VERY nice exhaust!

Jon

I think the code is fordtruck8....I have this on mine. If you have the factory hitch then it might need a little tweaking as hole one of the brackets is suppose to go in is occupied by a hitch bolt.
Thanks for the correction runnerbl, the correct code is "fordtruck8". My bad
I'm glad you brought up the trailer hitch issue as well. The way I understand it is that if your 05 was built before April 05, there is a mounting hole missing on the frame rail. Mine was built in June 05 and has the extra hole. I also have the factory hitch. I think that's why the install instructions state that you "may" have to modify in order to install the kit. Mine fit with no problems at all.

Exhaust
I really don't mean to beat a dead horse but for some reason I couldn't not for the life of me find anything about it. Being that my truck is an 05 FX4, with only about 1000 miles on it, by me putting this exhaust on it would that viod my warranty. I could have sworn somewhere in here sadi something to that effect. I know they would have to prove that that was the cause and is hard to prove but it's there word against mine.

Exhaust
I was also looking underneath the truck and I was looking on the drivers side where the pipe is going to go. It looks atlittle tight on this side. Did anyone have any problems with it fittig right on this side. It just looks like it's close to the breather tube for the axle and a couple of wires.

Exhaust
Well I put my exhaust on this morning. I'm having alot of trouble getting it aligned correctly. The driverside pipe is perfect but the pass side is giving me the trouble. My truck was built in oct 04. When I ordered the exhaust it came with the 18" pipe the goes into the muffler. Well that was to small, so I thought to myself that if you take the other pipe the one that was on the muffler to begin with and put the other pipe on, it would fit. Well it did and I still don't think that is right, from me measuring I think I need the 26" pipe and not the 18". Could the way I have it set up now be the reason why the pass side is not lining up right. When I mean not lining up right the driver side is straight back. The pass side is off to the left alittle bit and down. I tried adjusting all the clamps and move it to where it should be but still doesn't help. ALso another bad thing that is going to happen, when I was tighening the 3" clamp onto the muffler I think it started to strip. I read the directions and it says approx. 65 ft lbs of torque for the clamps. Well I set my wrench at 60ft lbs. They way it is now it runs, sounds really good but I don't think the front clamp would hold it for 2 long I can still wiggle the fron of the muffler and the pipe. I think it's because I need the long pipe for the front and not the one they sent.
Exhaust
THis is the pipe I'm talking about the one with the arrow pionting to it. Is that even supposed to be there with this new system.

Here's the driverside looks good

I'm also holding the pass side pipe up alittle bit with a wire tie. It seems like it hangs alittle to low on that side.

Hi James,
When I installed mine I used this thread for reference http://f150online.net/forums/showthr...=16614+install it has pics that really helped me.
I'm not sure about you question on the pipe. It looks like the arrow is pointing to the OEM pipe that has a little sort of crimp in it it accelerate the exhaust. If this is the one you have a questions about, you do reuse it. My kit only came with the additonal short pipe to install in front of the muffler, so I had no choice.
I also had to shift thing around quite a bit to get my system to fit right. Even when I got it all lined up, it was about 1/2 inch lower on the drivers side. The good news is that after driving it for a few days and retourquing everything, it is lined up perfectly and fits very well. I've had no other issues with it since.
Hope this helps,
Jon
