simple question from a simple man
How's it going everyone. I'm new to the site and the forums here and have a couple of questions.
This pickup I have is pretty much stock and I'm looking to begin some changes to it. I have a buddy that has the same year same style same engine one as mine, and it looks and runs better than it did when he got it.
So...my questions are:
1. What should I expect price wise for dual exhaust with chrome tips straight out the back?
2. What would be the best thing to help some fuel mileage? Would a chip or that K&N air induction thing help that out any?
help a fella out..

Well around here in Missouri I think that it is about $250 dollars for true dual exhaust with tips. That is just a price that my buddy got from a muffler shop here in my little home town.
On the K&N thing, I am not sure of the price, and not sure if it will help your mileage out, but it can hurt to put something like that on your truck, even just slide a filter in, and keep the stock air intake on. That is just my thoughts, hopes this helps out a little, Dave

Depends on the area, the pipes, the mufflers, the brand of tips and the mood of the installer most of the time. I have muffler back duals put on an explorer one time, one quote was $460 and the guy who got the job did it for $120. It pays to shop. A true dual system will increase your milage by 1-2, if you drive it normally not WOT all the time. The K&N is a popular add on, but is relativly nothing for MPG increases. The chip can be made for milage, performance, towing, or whatever you'd like, based on tune.
