i just recently got a series 40 flowbasterd shoved up into my truck its a single in/ dual out. SI/DO. had a muffler shop do it he used 2 1/2 SS pipe. and i bought 4" wide 22" long SS tips heres a pic cost me 445. but the tips were 65 so thats what really raised the price.. its all welded and custom bent.
dynamic mufflers is the name of the place i think there a franchise but im not sure.. hope this helps

the same place quoted me a price of 220 but that was with no muffler... just dualed straight out the back with standard cheapo tips.. mida's down the road qouted me 295 to straight pipe it with tips.. and if you wanna know what it sounds like without a muffler get yourself a 15mm wrench and get under your truck theres a C clamp in between the stock muffler and a Y pipe loosen the 2 nuts and slide the clamp back towards the muffler.. then start err up.. but before you cream yourself.. drive it down the road.. it gets old quick.. truth is if you want a quality job your gonna pay..

ill take some more pics and show you just what they did exactly.. although im sure its not gonna make that 445 sound any cheaper

nope your good to go i did it to mine before i got my exhuast system just to see what it would sound like.. left it like that for bout 3 days.. it does get old.. atleast with the muffler it refines the sound and it actually gets quite once you break 2k rpm so it wont kill you on the highway..

and dont believe this performance crap you read.. unless you have a finely tuned butt dyno your not going to feel any difference..

but if your serious i would go around to your local muffler shops and ask questions..

Ook so i did what u told me, i loosend up the bolts on the c clamp and pushed it toward the muffler and NOTHing happend! There are 2 c clamps, one like 5 inches in front of the muffler then one closer to the y pipe so i moved the one closer to the y pipe all that happend is a little fluid dripped down from where the c clamp used to be. No difference in sound. So should i try the other clamp? Am i doing this rite?

put your foot on the muffler and push on it to seperate the pipes more.. theres no way that you wouldnt hear the difference with the muffler seperated like that.. and btw sorry forgot about the other c clamp not that it matters which one but i find the one closes to the Y pipe easier.. if i remember correctly when i first seperated it there wasnt a difference either what i did was like i said i put my foor on the front of the muffler and pushed it back towards the rear axle.. dont push to hard (dont know how strong you are) cause you could pop it off its hangers.. just enough to make a good gap between the pipes ===] [=== hell do it after you first start it up..

.. ok fine heres the best advice i can give you.. go to a muffler shop.. and ask someone there that knows what there doing.. some questions.. tell me how it goes..

and no it inst bad for the damned truck.. if you manage to break a hanger then ford has to replace it cause it was factory defected .. in other words there isnt an Fing chance of you really breaking anything unless those bolts were cross threaded at the factory.. or you cross thread them..

but whatever im just some idiot here on the interweb trying to help. i'm not just spewing this out my *** i did this to my truck with no adverse affects..
