Talking Gibson Exhuast?

I haven't seen anyone on the site that has Gibson exhuast. Does anyone have Gibson? Are they any good? Do they suck?

They are a good high quality exhaust. I've had one on a Dodge and on a GM. Magnaflow is my favorite though. I've found more value in going to a locally owned performance exhaust shop that carries Magnaflow and having them install a custom exhaust. They often know details about where the major restrictions are in the OEM exhaust, other than the OEM muffler that is. Apperently the '97-'03 f-150 Y pipe is quite a cork. I would not have know this had I installed an kit exhaust, and would not have benefited from that exhaust as much as one should have.

I have the Gibson SIDO that exits the sides behind the rear tires, it sounds pretty mellow at idle. At about 2000 rpm it sounds a lot better and at WOT sounds great. I ordered it from Auto Anything ($372) and had a local shop install it for $100(all welded, no clamps), I bought the aluminized (I live in Oregon and they don't salt the roads). I noticed after installing it that my 5.4 breathes easier on uphill grades (probably get that with most any after market system), gas mileage is about the same because I drive it a little harder because I love the sound. I bought this system because a friend of mine who was crew chief for a drag race team uses Gibson products on his personal rigs.

I have a Gibson System on my truck...........it was on it when I bought the truck.

I like it because it is quieter, especially in the cab where I don't want extra noise.

I had a Gibson sytem on my Dodge Ram I had before, same deal with the noise.

They definitely let the motor breathe easier........just not as loud as some of the other systems.

I also have the Gibson that matches the stock configuration. It was easy to install, has mellow sound at idle (not noisy), it is guaranteed for off road use, after 4 years in SoCal no rust or deterioration.

I have a Gibson system on my '01 5.4 Supercrew. I love it. It's stainless all the way and it's the sport style..dual exit just behind right rear tire. I must admit I expected it to be just a little throatier and louder but have found that I am very happy with it. It sounds really good when you put your foot in it a little bit...but not real loud. When you are cruising there is ZERO droning noise in the cab. One thing I did find is that it is certainly NOT a backyard project that you want to try just by putting the truck on jackstands. Take it to a professional who has the proper tools. Mine had to have a couple of pieces enlarged with the mandrel machine (I think that's what it's called). Anyway, if I had tried to install it myself I would have been unpleasantly STUCK. Combined with the Air Force One air inlet I can really tell a difference. Take a look: http://www.hopupracing.com/aioneststpei2.html
Installs in about 1-1.5 hours with common handtools. Great combo for a little added power and sound.

I have the Gibson Super Truck on my 04 F150. IMO at first it was a little louder than what I wanted but after driving for many months I like the sound. I have not had any problems with discoloration on the right rear wheel as some have complained about, maybe because I wash my truck twice aweek. Very easy install, I had muffler shop weld to pipe behind converter because I do not like the clamps.

I bought a SS Gibson for my 99 Ranger. It droned. It rusted. No more Gibson for me.

stainless will discolor and look rusty but it doesn't rust like other metals.
