Question Jegs Dual Exhaust

I've got a Jeg's Cat-Back Dual exhaust kit on my 97 4.6L. The kit is kinda weird cuz it has a muffler with a 3" inlet and dual 3" outlets. But anyway it sounds pretty good, but im lookin for a muffler that is really loud, i mean REALLY loud. I've heard good things about the IMCO extreme but i was wondering if anybody has tried the Flowmaster 10 series? Also, hw much would cutting out the 2 converters and leaving the 2 pre-cats increase the volume? My friend just got 40 series on his car so i need somethign that will make his sound like nuthin any help would be apprectiated, thanks!

meangreen, if loud is what u want then imco is what u get. there is no other muffler that even comes close. i have a magnaflow 14 inch (the loudest of the magnaflows), and its loud on the gas but quite on idle. but on wot its still nowhere close to the imco. my cousin had an imco on his 05 4.6 and he took it off because it was so loud he couldnt talk on his phone on the freeway. but it did sound great. for more info check out the thred started by fourpointsix in this section, he has bought every exhaust on the market and laid out all the facts for u.

figured id just bring it to u

Flowmaster 40 Series (dumped)

Volume: 6
Sound Quality: 7
Performance: Lost low end

IMCO Extreme 1-chamber (3" tailpipe)

Volume: 10
Sound Quality: 8
Performance: Better than the Flowmaster, still some low end loss from stock

Magnaflow 14" (2.5 inch tailpipe)

Volume: 8
Sound Quality: 10
Performance: Better than stock

Magnaflow 18" (3 inch dump)

Volume: 5
Sound Quality: 10
Performance: Better than stock

dont know exactly what your looking for, i know u want loud but i dont know how much u care about performance. anyway hope this helps.

I had kinda looked at that Jeg's dual setup myself as a catback...would it add any power, or is this more for sound?

Umm id say that u will get some performance from it but not a whole lot, i mean, its a good deal for the price they ask for it. I just dont think that its loud enough for me so im gonna swap out the muffler.
hope that helps

Yeah that helps, thanks. I just figure if I'm going to pay a couple bills for exhaust, it better have some extra power and gas mileage as side benefits.
