drivers manifold stud into coolant?

The rear bottom stud on my driver's side exhaust manifold broke off flush with the manifold. I'm going to try to get the stud out or else drill it and insert a Heli-coil. Does this stud reach into a coolant passage or does it just bottom out? Thanks.

i dont believe so...

if it does then all you need to do when you re-assemble is to use some sealer around the heli-coil and/or around the stud (assuming you get the old one out in the first place)
and all will be well

good luck and have fun

Thanks. I just hate to have it drill into the coolant passage requiring me to have to flush out the coolant. Maybe I'll try a little grease on the bit when it gets to the end.
