Headers.. Are they worth it?

Has anybody tried "TOG" headers? Are they really worth the price? They look to be good and all, but I just don't know if I can stomach the price.

Also, is the ceramic coating something you guys would recommend?

What other performance products do you have on your car?

I run a 5.4 with a 6 psi blower and 3 inch dual exhaust and I still have the stock headers manifolds on it. I talked to several performance shops, including Dugan Racing and Modular Powerhouse, and both told me I wouldn't see all to much benefit from them, maybe a little more torque and a lot more noise. But for the price that headers for out vehicles cost, I don't see it being worth it. I bought a set of BBK longtubes for a Mustang 5.0 a couple years ago from summit racing, and they were the big ones, 1 5/8 chrome with shortie h-pipe shipped overnight for like $450. Thats half the exhaust!!! I would say, if you really want them, be patient and watch ebay. They come across there periodically and sell relatively cheap, like $200. Or look into the summit racing branded ones, I think they were cheaper

FlowTech 269.99 http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...=egnsearch.asp

PaceSetter 285.99 http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...=egnsearch.asp

I wouldn't but the super expensive though, you're hardly ever going to see them anyway. Althought he jet hot ceramic coating is nice, its not really necassary

I was going to say...You can get cheaper headers, but I guess that falls back to "You get what you pay for", but that is not always true. The ceramic coating is nice but as mentioned it's not necessary. Though I wouldn't want to raise the hood and see a rusted set of headers. Get long tubes if you can instead of shorties. I think shorties are a waste. (JMO)

Thanks for the info, I am probably going to go with the dynatech system from RPM. It was recommended to me on another forum as being the best "bang for the buck".

on a lightly modded F-150 the stock exuast manifolds flow pretty well and it is only after adding alot of mods or a supercharger or turbo that you will really be able to max out the flow of the stockers, this is why it is low on my list of mods and i am waiting till i put a supercharger on to get a set of dynatech long tubes, good luck
