Magnaflow 16616 Lightning-Style Install
My Magnaflow kit came in yesterday. I will install it Saturday. I was looking at the instructions, included parts and my truck last night and I am not clear on exactly where the added hangar should be attached to the truck frame. The instructions have a fuzzy picture that makes it look like it goes through a hole in the front leaf-spring perch, but it seems like the threaded piece that is the frame-side of the hangar may be too short for adequate thread engagement with the nut.
Has anybody done the install and can share the experience???
TIA!

Well, it doesn't matter now - I couldn't wait for Saturday so I put it on tonight. I also called magnaflow tech support and the guy couldn't do anymore than look at the same fuzzy picture and tell me "yeah, I think it is on the spring perch."
The answer is, on the screw, it goes through the right rear leaf spring front perch, and the hole is already there. The hangars line up perfectly with the hangars on the exhaust system that way.
The install was a snap, it took me about an hour with only hand tools and no ramps or lift. The new extension pipe was too long so I had to cut it down by 6.5 inches. Oh yeah, I did use the recip saw to cut it back, so I did use one power tool. There were no clearance issues with he KR running boards.
Finally, it sounds GREAT. Very deep, but it isn't too loud until you romp on it. At 70 it is still sweet, just a little louder than stock. I give the 16616 catback 10 of 10.

Let's see some pictures! I debated long and hard about going with the Lightning exit, before opting for the duals out the back. I'd love to see your set-up though, and part of me still wishes I had gone for the side exit.....
