DI/SO Setup

Ok, no flaming....I did search this forum first

I'm thinking of doing a DI/SO exhaust setup. Does anyone besides "Regulator54" have this setup? He's the only one I can find on this forum with that setup.

I would like to get rid of the crap Y pipe and just have the 2 pipes go right to a DI/SO muffler. Does manaflow make a DI/SO muffler?

Thanks!

Magnaflow ads indicate that most of their mufflers are made to flow either direction. So instead of a SI/DO setup that is popular, you switch it around and use it as a DI/SO, just as I have done with my Flowmaster setup. Seems most guys want that dual exhaust look with twin tailpipes even though they really don't have dual exhaust. The setup I used gives the flow and power improvement I wanted without the extra cost and bulk of two tailpipes and X, H, or Y-pipes.

Yeah. But you seem to be the only one on this forum to have that setup. WHY?!?!

It makes sense to me...get rid of the crap y pipe, and make the 2 pipes go into a DI/SO muffler. I would think that it would open it up, but not lose any low end backpressure as well.

Any one else have any thoughts????????

I'm running a SpinTech Sportsman Street dual 2 1/2" in, single 3" out. I didn't notice any loss of power but then again I'm running an ATI Procharger so I probably wouldn't notice slight changes as much as NA engines.

I guess I'm the only sensible one. Must go with the age. I'm well past the straight pipes and louder is better mentality. Never noticed any loss in power, only an increase in pulling power all the way through the power band. I do have the Superchips programmer installed as well.
