Roush R12000006 Exhaust System.

I'm going to order the Roush R12000006 exhaust but, before I do I was wondering if anyone that has ordered / installed one of these could chime in with a couple things.

Does the kit come with everything needed for the install on the super cab?

Is this somthing the average guy that is comfortable working under a truck can do on a saturday afternoon with out a welder or lift or huge pain in the ****?

Is there a place I can get it cheaper than the 571.43 or whatever everyone sells it at?

Thanks Guys

Can't help you with your questions, but maybe in another way.
With that kit you are paying for the name, bigtime. Generally speaking, it seems that with these engines the brand of exhaust you go with has very minimal effect on performance or MPG change. Most people don't notice anything compared to stock, let alone compared to another brand.

I suggest savings $250+ and get an in-house system with a more house name brand like Magnaflow or Flowmaster; whatever toots your horn.

Hell, just get a Magnaflow muffler, part $12245 and have a muffler shop take off the stock and put the magnaflow back on, you'll need to add about 14" of str8 pipe to make up the difference of the stock muffler. Total cost $214.00
Sounds great, just isn;t shiny and have fancy names on it!

Update.

Hey,

Just wanted to share what I found out.

This is a complete bolt on direct replacement cat back kit. Comes with everything needed for install on supcab or screw. The install is easy no cutting, welding, etc.

They use Magnaflow mufflers got this info from Roush directly.

Reasons I went with this setup.

Maganaflow muffler.
Made with stainless steel.
Dual out the back with chrome tips. I have an XLT with chome upgrades.
It has the sound I was looking for. Went to a dealer that had a stage 1 truck and took a listen.
I could install it thus saving money on install.
Leaves the stock system unmodified.
Ford can't use this setup as an excuss if I have take it in for service.
I got a lead on employee discount from a friend.

I know its still a bit more expensive that a flowmaster or magnaflow setup even with a discount but, I plan on owning the truck till it gives out and I want what I want.

later
