stutter problem

I just had an entirely new exhaust installed. BBK shorty headers, stock cats and a Gibson Super Truck muffler. Sounds awesome, I love it. I've had it back for a few days now and it just started to stutter when I give it gas. Its fine if I baby the pedal, but when I get into it it stutters as it accellerates. This concerns me because I just dumped a small fortune into this exhaust. I called my mechanic but he had left for the day (Friday). Any ideas on what this could be? Any suggestions on things to check would be greatly appreciated. There's no way I'll be able to make it to Monday without at least checking it out. Thanks in advance.

stutter

hey man,
i resently have had the same problem it was alwas a misfire from either a bad coil pack or plug. If there is a autozone near you go and get it scanned for free and chech the code to see if its a misfire. Hope this helps!!!

Will the codes show up if the check engine light isn't on? Sorry if thats a noob question. I'm just getting started at all of this. A friend of mine said that it might be the fuel filter? I've never changed that on this truck. Is it hard to get at? How hard would it be to replace? Once again, any help would be greatly appreciated. I would love to get out of this without dropping another pile of cash at the mechanics.

Check your header bolts. Your supposed to re-tighten them after 500 miles. Although it sounds more like a firing problem to me too. Check your plugs, coilpacks, and change your fuel filter. Go to v6f150*net and type in "How to change fuel filter" in the forum search. They have a "how-to" on that.
