Question Thinking Borla

I just bought an '04 XLT Supercrew yesterday and am enjoying every minute of it . I had to sacrifice my '93 Mustang GT though Well, I'm looking into getting the Borla exhaust. Has anyone heard it?

I've got it on my '03 4.6...I love! Not to loud, has an awsome tone when I'm in it. Borla's got my vote.

2005 F150 XLT Borla install

Just ordered and installed the new Borla kit for the 2005 F150. Paid $700 plus $3.50 shipping. Arrived in two days and as fate would have it I threw my back out the day it arrived.
I mention this because I installed the exhaust including removing the stock system, no ramps, in 1 1/2 hours. Easy job, superb installation kit with a neat hanger system which ties into the rear spring brackets.

The install can be accomplished with a couple of sockets and easily fits around the spare tire.

When you kick it over it does sound sweeeetttt. Great rumble at idle a nice roar at wot. Great sound , great build quality, highly recommended.

If your looking for a great looking dual exhaust, with some extra sound this is the way to go. If your looking for loud this is not the set up.

Where did you order your kit from? Those are the Stainless Steel pipes, right? I haven't found a Borla kit under $800.

Yeah, I installed the cat-back and mid-pipe on my Mustang with another buddie which for the most part was fairly easy. Definitly not a job to do in the driveway on a hot day in Florida :o Sorry to here about your back, sounds like it was worth it though. My fiancee could not stand my Mustang because it was so loud so this sounds like a great mod

chrisc, what was the part number of your kit? How is the noise level in the cab? That seems like a great price for the kit. I also would like to know where you bought it. Thanks

I had a Borla system on my 98 F150 Ext cab, short bed and loved it. I just ordered a Borla system for my 2003 F150 Ext cab, should be getting here any time. I bought the system off of ebay for 600 bucks plus shipping, and there's another system on ebay for a 2004-2005 if your interested:

Thumbs up

Borla is high quality. I have the cat back on my 02 SCREW, love it. Not loud like Flowmaster. Loud enough though. Will last forever. Installed myself. Forget what I paid. I think I got it from Summit. I was gonna go with Gibson heard they sound great too. They wouldn't guarentee that I would be able to keep my spare under the truck. No regrets, Borla looks and sounds great. Easy to install.

Sorry for the delay. Regarding what kit number I ordered it was a Borla # 140137. I dealt with George the Borla Sales Rep in New England and he took the order. He shipped the product from one of his distributors AA Auto Pennsylvania who based on the addresses on the packing slip has locations scattered throughout PA.

If anyone is interested I will send along the contact number for George and you can work a deal directly with him. He will ship from one of his regional suppliers. The shipping cost was $3.50

As for the question about noise in the cab. I have been running this setup for about a week now in all conditions. Still no drone in the cab at any RPM. Great sound on startup and hard aceleration but low rumble at normal operating conditions.

Very simple install and I am very happy with the performance. Let me know fi I can answer any other questions

Another vote for the Borla.... installed a SIDO catback 3½ yrs ago on my 02 4x4 King Ranch Supercrew... very subtle rumble at idle but you know its there... absolutely love it.... looked at Magnaflow, Flowmaster, etc but didn't want to sound like a hick going down the highway.... (nevermind the drone inside the cab... )

So is borla quieter than magnaflow? I mean it seems from reviews that they are identical. Why the price difference then? Is it just more refined and quieter during operation than the magnaflow?

I also just purchased the SIDO for my 05 screw and was told by the performance shop that sold it to me that I needed to stitch weld the pipes and that they have had problems with just using the clamps.
