I went to put on my magnaflow exhaust system on my 97 F150... I purchased my kit from hott exhaust.com. My tip comes out in front of my tire why does my kit come out from behind the tire? Is it custom??? I dont know help please

 

i97 trucks came with exhaust in front of the tire, after awhile the exhaust disclored the rear rim and tire so i believe ford issued a recall(i think) that basically said we will put a new exhaust on and it will come out behind the tire and take care of issue, so obviously your truck was never modified, then when the aftermarket came out they wanted to use the new hanger to thats prolly why its made to fit out the back, do a search on here for 1997 exhaust issues and you will prolly get more info.

 

i had kind of the same problem when i bought my flowmasters for my 97. I bought the kit that was for 97 but none of the brackets matched up, so i ended having to return it and get the kit that was for the 98
