Magnaflow or Dynomax
Magnaflow or Dynomax
K guys I'm going to get a new exhaust for my 2005 supercrew. Looking to either get a magnaflow sido or dynomax sido, The price difference is about 125 which isn't much. I listen to sound clips on the web of both and liked them both. I'm looking for a decent sounding muffler that won't make the wife pissed, but I also want a muffler that when i hammer it, it will bellow. And suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Also if u suggest magnaflow, is there a particular type of magnaflow that's better for the supercrews. Thanks for any info.

Sorry to sideline there.... Regarding the Dynomax vs. Magnaflow - I've been looking at Dynomax for my '95 as well. They ceramic coat their headers inside as well as outside! Their systems have been on CORR and SODA trucks for years. The prices are reasonable and they are available at your local auto parts stores. What's wrong with this picture?
I asked a similar question about a week ago and basically, what I got back from a few (some with respectable credentials as mechanics, etc.) was that the Dynomax isn't the best system out there but it's not the worse. Bottom line: You get what you pay for. It's still got me thinking, though... I could basically go headers to tailpipe for the same price as a set of JBA headers alone! It's SOOOOO tempting!
I called meineke up and was ask them what kind of mufflers they carry, and he told me a variety of types, including magnaflow, flowmaster, full boar, vortex and a few more. I asked him to recommend one and he told me that a muffler is a muffler and wasn't very much help. He said they are all made the same. He also said that with a side exhaust behind the rear tire would, if I put tips on get them dirty constantly from road debris. What's everyones comment on this. I guess i should stay away from them.

Is there a difference between the magnaflow round or oval muffler. I mean with the sound and performance? Also does size matter. Which is the best option to go with 3" in and 3" out or what other combo's are there.

It's got a lot of your answers.
It came from a suggestion on this one:

which also has some good info.
Sounds to me like a replacement is the way to go.
