problem with exhaust

recently i noticed that when my truck takes off that it sounds like it has an exhaust leat or something, and a guy that i was talking to about it says it sounds like one of the cats are stoped up or something is there a way to correct this or do i need to replace the cat and if i have to replace the cat how much do they run

Don't know the age of the truck or anything about it. I know that if you are in the USA your truck cats should be covered for 100K or 5 years. So if it is a newer model it will be covered. Other wise I have seen nice hi-flow cats for around 100.00 bucks. Shouldn't cost more then 50 to have the welded in to existing place.

the cats on my 97F150 are fine and they are 127K miles on em... if u wanna clean ur cats out a low ratio diesel gas misture will work or injector cleaner something thats slow burning and will continue burning as it exits the engine will work diesel is ur cheapest alternative but ur truck will run rough if not u can do it the ghetto way and unbolt ur exhaust and run water through the cats...
