Question Headers??

Hey all!

I know - use the search feature - and I did, but would like some fresh thoughts. I have a broken exhaust manifold stud on the rear passenger side and the exhaust leak is driving me nuts - I am **** . The exhaust manifolds are rusted pretty bad as are the studs and nuts. Now I know I have to remove the manifolds to fix the leak. Soooo..... I am considering putting on headers. I was looking at the Pace Setters only because of the price. I cannot see paying the big bucks for the JBA's. Would the Pace Setters be better than stock manifolds? If I go with headers, would I have to get my chip reprogrammed?

Thanks for all the advice.

God Bless!

Jeff

How much modifications will I have to make to my existing exhaust system if I go with long tubes?

Headers will improve your performance, shorties will give you more torque rather than horses. As far as how much improvement the word on these boards with this truck is that the gains arent much, and no you dont need to reprogram. Whatever tune you have now should be fine.

not much removal of the pre cats which is legal in most states then just have flanges welded... prolly like 50 bucks work of work for a muffler shop at tops.
