What do you guys think?

To be able to get my wife's 1995 Dodge Dakota 4x4 back on the road, I have to replace the catalytic converter. It's OBDI. I got a price quote of $120.00 out the door installed at this one place that was recommended to me by another repair shop. What do you think of that price?

But...the first thing I have to do is get the insurance reinstated because I let it lapse since it wasn't going anywhere for a while. Then I have to get a temporary registration so I can legally drive it on the road. (Registration expired last Nov.) Then get the cat installed. Then get it smog checked. The registration is already paid. DMV is just waiting for proof of insurance and a smog cert. Sheesh........What a hassle........

So, what do you think of $120 bucks for a new cat installed?

id say its a great price. i bought 2 aftermarket cats for my old gmc off ebay (catco brand i believe) for 50 a peice. so theres a 100 and went to a muffler shop to have them welded it for 30 bux. thats 130 for 2... but ebay is usually alot cheaper and u have drive to a place to instal it so... id say its a great price for u. one cat plus install the same day i would go for it.

That's a decent price. You could get a Carsound (Magnaflow) hiflow cat on e-bay for ~75.00 plus shipping. A muffler shop would charge 40-50 to install.

I'm guessing you live in either Communist China or Canada based on all the BS you have to go though to get that puppy back on the road. Then again, it could be Kalifornia where the loony left has taken control of the government. I hope Arnold can unravel some of the mess.
