Tip On Removing The Factory Exhaust System
Having recently installed a Magnaflow cat-back system, I thought I'd pass along a little tip that would have saved me some time and frustration had I known about it before I started my project.
When removing your factory system, remember that there is a "pin and slot" mechanism that holds the factory exhaust in place, in addition to the band clamp that is clearly visible. To remove the factory system, you must loosen the band clamp and twist the entire assembly so that the pin and slot disengage from one another.

And here is a photo of the slot that the pin engages into:

If you don't disengage this mechanism, you will pull until you are blue in the face and still not free the factory system from the truck -- let my pain be your gain!
