manifold bolts broke

Hi everyone I have a 2000 f150ext cab 4x4 5.4. About two months ago I found out that two of the exhaust manifold bolts were broke off on the passenger side of my truck. I had a loud ticking on exceleration. I had a local mechanic I trust replace the bolt and gasket on that side. I have discovered that the ticking is still present. My question to anyone is it possible the manifold warped from the lack of two bolts, and should I replace the manifold. Is this a possibel the manifold is warped.
I appreciate any advise
Thank in advance
Kyle

It's very possible the manifold is warped. As it heats up if it isn't bolted evenly, it will almost always warp. I've got an old '69 Tbird that due to a casting problem with the right side manifold, it always cracks after a few heat/cool cycles. I've had four manifolds on there in three years, and they are getting hard to find.

Make sure that noise is not a spark plug coming loose.

Breaker I went to aguy here in South Carolina who put on my exhaust. I got the manifold gasket and he put it on for $150. He had to remove two broken studs. Thanks for the info on the manifold. I have heard that the broken bolt on the passenger side manifold is a common problem in thiese year trucks. I don't think it is a spark plug because I have not had any performance issues.
Thank
Kyle
