Wrong cats!!!, question???
I got my converters today. I ordered Magnaflows #94306 but received #94316 (w/air) .
I was wondering if anybody out there went through this situation. The air tube looks to be well plugged and maybe the cats could be installed without using the air tube. I want to confirm this.
I don't want to go through the nightmare of sending them back or trying to sell them in Ebay or trying to negotiate/trade them at the local shop. I would rather installed them.
Let see if I can hear from someone with a good alternative.

You don't want to hear this, but since no one has replied... I think you should get the correct cats for your truck.
Based on my own past experiences, whenever I tried to Mickey-Mouse incorrect parts to make them work (for a variety of projects, not just my truck), I've always had to go back with the right parts and start over.
My buddy's grandma said it best:
Never time to do things right?
Always time to do them again!

Thank you very much, Jordan not Mike, for your reply. The reason that I considered the possibility of using these was because they are structuraly and physically the same except for the tube. I agree that Mickey Mouse projects or ideas will yield Mickey Mouse results. For that reason I excluded this alternative being both cats basically the same, and there is more and here comes the information for all of us with a situation like this.
I was able to contact Magnaflow Technical Support directly and this is what I learned. I talked to Rick and told me they can be used
. Both the 94306 and 94316 (w/air) are internally and externally the same except for the air tube that is used in other models. The tube comes closed with a cap that can be welded to secure it to the converter and this will make it work exactly like the 94306. Thank God, because I want to go ahead with the project with good results.
I hope this helps anyone around with the same concerns.
