MagnaFlow on the way!!
Just ordered my Magnaflow Cat back SIDO (to the rear) today and can't wait to install it this weekend!! I'll post pics and results once it's installed.
oops - wrong forum - can a moderator move to the "Aftermarket Exhaust" forum?
Also wanted to add that I ordered these through Tony at Hottexhaust and he was very helpful, knows his products, and I did receive the forum discount - a big thumbs up for his help
thx

Congratulations. I am planning on ordering one tomorrow. I believe the part no. is 15749. My only concern is hanging the system. I hope that the kit really does come with all the necessary hardware--hangers, clamps, bolts, etc... Good luck with yours and keep us posted. I will too.

On my 97, it cleared the spare tire just fine, but did not clear the receiver hitch (well, it did on the driver's side and not on the passenger side). I'm 99% positive that it's an aftermarket hitch, though; because that sucker was monstrous once we got it unbolted from the frame.
Best I can tell you is to try it and see what happens. Yours will probably bolt up fine.

I found a PDF file with step-by step installation instructions on MagnaFlow's website. It was kind of vague on the hangers, though. It does say it will clear the factory spare and hitch, though. I'm ordering mine today.

Brian - the part number for my '05 is 16614 and the earlier SIDO (out the rear) was 15834 they almost ordered the wrong kit and I actually called MagnaFlow directly to verify the newer part # 16614....by the way - as of yesterday they had 16 sets ready to ship (at their SoCal/O.C. warehouse).
Said I would get it in time to install this weekend!!! Tony did say that the clearence would be fine with the stock towing package hardware and that they were supposed to be a "true" bolt on.....it will be interesting to see if those rear hanger holes are there or not - if not I do have a local muffler shop here that can easily weld them on for me.....

I guess the 04 and 05 have different exhaust, but the same body? That seems strange. I guess compared to your truck mine is the really old one-the previous body style. I verified again that I need the 15749 for 97-03. 15834 is listed for 04 trucks, 16614 is listed 04.5-05.

Once you're under the truck and can see what they're talking about it's pretty apparent where things are supposed to go.

Mine is actually a 99. It looks like they've got 3 different SIDO kits. One for the 97-03, one for the 04 heritage, and one for the 04-05. It just seems strange that they would have different kits for two trucks of the same body--97-03 and the 04 Heritage.
Well, I've been spraying some penetrating oil on all the hangers, clamps, and pipe joints that I'll have to remove in order to put the magnaflow on for the past sveral days. I'm, ready to git r done!
