Real Dual Exhaust / Affect Eng Performance? Good? Bad?

I have a 2005, 5.4L XLT with factory exhaust. Considering installing real dual exhaust with dual cat convertors & dual mufflers. Will duals affect engine performance? Primarily concerned that duals may affect computer and the issue of back pressure in the engine and exhaust flow?

Does the computer somehow monitor back pressure? Consider that dual exhaust adds more volumetric flow compared to the factory exhaust.

cats hold ur back pressure enough. duals will help u with both low end and top end power true dual is always the best sounding and best performance way to go...

Faster150,

One reason I am asking about duals is due to a rumor I heard that duals affects the computer's ability to monitor the engine. I am not sure how. I would like to hear more from other late model F150 owners, like yorself, about their experience with duals.

Dual 2,.5" will be okay overall, but you will still lose some torque below 2500rpm. Why do you want true duals?
