How to remove old DPFE sensor?

F150 2002 XLT V8 Triton 4.6L

The DPFE sensor that my vehicle has is what I've been told is the 'newer' version. It is small, plasic, black, and 'freefloating' as opposed to the bigger bolted-on version. It's like a small matchbox with two prongs HI and RES and an electrical connector outlet.

There seem to be no clamps or clasps on it but I tried tugging at it and moving it around and it would not move at all. I don't want to cause damage to it by too much pressure. How do I remove that thing?

You can remove it by disconnecting the electical plug, then gently pulling on it, while moving it in a circular motion, If it's the first time it's been removed it will stick.. it gets easier after the first time. (insert funny inuendo here) lol.

Since we're on the subject of DPFE's Does anyone know how to test to see if one is bad... I've got the oh so common 401 code that i'm trying to eliminate, i've cleaned the ports from the throttle body to the Egr and from the egr to the dpfe. (2001 f-150 with 4.2
