Summit dual exhaust cat back just ordered

I just ordered a summit cat back dual exhaust system today. a total of 180 bucks with shipping, only 170 for the system itself. it's a 2 1/4" system and it will fit right around the spare tire, which i wanted to keep under the truck. It will arrive in 3 to 4 business days. I can't wait to get it. I'll keep you posted.

awesome deal.

good luck with it. i've heard some issues about fitment and long run quality. it may be worth painting as much as possible with a high temp, rust inhibiting paint to help it last as long as possible.

Well i got mine today...only took 3 days, and set me back 180 bucks. I will hopefully be putting it on tomorow, depending on weather and other things. It looks really good and fits together nicely. The muffler looks decent, and looks pretty straight through, not very much restriction at all. The pipes are good, no dents or anything. i am really looking forward to hearing how it sounds.

well i got the whole system on today but haven tightened it down yet....and i havent figured out how the swinger hangers are supposed to connect to the tail pipes... Once i get that on, it will be all good... It was pretty quiet, even without the system on, and running straight off the converters... But i think when i actually drive it, it will be much louder because the engine would be under load. I was just running it in neutral. It has a pretty cool tone when idling....even for being quiet.. If i can figure out how to get the hangers on tomorow, i will take it for a ride and see how loud it is. But every thing fit nicely, i had to cut a pipe down quite a bit, but that's the way it was supposed to be do to wheel base sizes. I like it so far, i will give you more info tomorow on the sound and performance.

Well, i got the swinger hangers to work by cutting them in half and fabricating a L bracket to bolt onto the frame, something they should have sent with the package. It looks awsome, and sounds great, but still very quiet. I might get some high flow cats to make it louder.

I had to change all the hangers in some way or another, the swinger hangers i cut down and used the piece i cut off as a bracket and welded it on to the hanger...thus i now have a L bracket on the swinger hanger like it should have had in the first place. The other hanger, just a normal one that goes through a rubber mount, so i cut the old one off the exhaust system, cut the bended part off and welded it on the new hanger and.....bam.... now i got a perfect fitting hanger. I tell you, fabricating is the only way to get things perfect. But if you can't do stuff like that, this kit is probably not for you....

i finally have some pics of the new system.

It took a little over a day to install the whole system... Now remember, i have never done this before, i was the only one installing it, and i'm not even 17. The hardest part was getting the old rusted system off, and getting enough stuff to hold up the new exhaust so i could fit it. I had to break off the bolts on the clamps on the old system just to get it off, and let me tell you, sawzall's are awsome at cutting off old exhaust systems. I had fun working on it. I am thinking...or was thinking....about getting 3"tips slash cut for it, but now that i see it all together, i think the straight cut tips look better, and that it look awsome the way it is... What do you think? I don't have any tips on there now.
