great sound (Dodge Ram)

man, i know many of you know this but aren't gonna say it... but damn, the stock sound of the Dodge Ram 1500 sounds so damn good.

anyone know of a way to achieve that deep, throaty, yet loud sound? even at idle it sounds killer. then when the pedal gets on it, it really roars.

i've got the gibson dual exaust on my 04 f150 screw. the guy told me it had that deep throaty sound, but it's just too quiet, and no where near the sound that i like. i want to keep the dual pipe setup, but increase the sound. muffler switch seems like the answer. anybody know of a good one that has that dodge sound?

any ideas? and no, i love my ford too much to go dodge!

I say go with a Flownaster Super 40.
They perform much better on the dyno that the older 40 Series mufflers and are much louder outside but they claim to produce less noise from the inside of the cab.
I'll let you know becuase I pick up my 2005 F-150 tomorrow that I purchased tonight
I'll be getting a super 40 on within a month.

Just made a ghetto recording of my Flowmaster Super 40 Exhaust.
I plan to try and record using a good quality mic (not my mp3 player) and record it under load/driving conditions. It doesnt have as much beef in park.

I cannot say I disagree.

I rent vehicles on a weekly basis for work and I find myself sitting behind the wheel of everything from a Dodge to a Jag on a monthly basis. By far, the best stock system on the rentals from the fleet I use is the Dodge...

That's not to say that I like them the best though... Honestly, I really like the Escalades... LOL!

just get a regular 40. the super 40s sound exactly the same because they are the same. they are just painted black and they claim to give better power. if you cut the 2 open and compare them they will be the same. i just got a regular 40 on my truck yesterday and it sounds really good. it sounds better and louder than my friends dodge ram.

Well what I have noticed that they claim and seems to be correct is that they ar loud outside but are very quiet inside. Maybe they welded a thicker interior wall on the Super40 so it doesnt resonate inside the cab. Because on my other Flowmaster 40 series on my other truck, it is very loud inside.
