Look Down

Look at the thread right below yours it will save you a lot of time. SI/SO I heard gives out better preformance than SI/DO

Actually, a new y-pipe and single 3" system should help your truck a bit. But, you'll get more performance from a Superchip.

Spend some time here researching chips/tuners, air intakes, and exhaust systems. These 3 are a good starter combo.

yeah,yeah, what he said.

Max Mitchell said it right. best bang for the buck: computer chip(I have the 1715), air intake(Ihave the K&N fipk), 3"exhaust(si/so). best results were from the chip!!

Happy Hunting

The factory y-pipe/collector is very restrictive inside. There are a few posts around here with pictures, it really chokes-down inside.

Here's a pic:

It chokes-down to 1.6-inch diameter, makes sense to replace this as it is a bottleneck.

They are only like $30, I think this is the most restrictive part of the factory exhaust system.

I would do a quick search for "air intake" and you will find more than enough post to keep your busy for the next week or so.

As far as where to get those products....click here be sure and let them know you are a member of this site, and they will give you a nice discount.

Briefly, the Cold Air Intake Kits are just that. They help supply fresh cold air into the intake, for better horsepower. Some say they increase the sound of the after market exhaust system too. They are easy to install and replace your stock intake, tube, and filter.

Regards,
