HELP! Just installed new catback Magnaflow

I just installed the Magnaflow SIDO side exit 15827 in my 2004 F150 Screw. Everything went pretty smooth with the install. I ran the truck for about 2 miles (give or take) and noticed that a small amount of precipitation was dripping from the first joint (where I attached the new muffler to the stock catalytic conv. extension pipe. I also smell a RANK odor...like something burning (not good...I started to panick). I checked everything out. Loosened and retightened the clamp that attaches the muffler and verified plenty of clearance away from everything (no melting body panels, etc.).

My question is this. I have noticed with every new car I have ever purchased, they kinda smell "funky" after you have first driven them (like melting plastic type smells which go away after a day of driving). Is this crap "normal" or is there something somehow horrably wrong with the exhaust/my install?

I would imagine this is just normal as all the new stuff is being heated up, and all the oils and what not are burning off.....I think it'll be fine, give it a few hundred miles maybe.

You'll get some "funky" smell from it for a couple hundred miles or so as the system "burns in". Chemicals from the production process and whatnot smell funny as they burn away....
