Help choosing an exhaust!!!

I have been trying to research exhaust systems for the past 3 weeks. I have it narrowed down to the flowmaster force 2 with 3" tips and a 50 series muffler. My question is this, if i wanted a 40 series muffler with this, how do i get it with the system? Also, what is the difference between the 40 and the 50? And if i put a Volant cold air intake on my truck, will that help? Please help!

Alright, here is what i have found. Flowmaster force 2 with 50 series muffler, 3" tips with dual side exhausts. Is there any performance difference between side exhaust compared to rear exit? Found a website that has free shipping for the exhaust and the cold air intake that i am going to order. The exhaust is $349.12, and the K & N air intake is $230.95. Is this good pricing on these? I was just looking for help from some of you guys that are experienced with this truck stuff, i am new to this so i definitely would love some help, thanks!

I have been researching exhaust as well. From what i have found, Magnaflow makes about the best power overall. From what i have read, most other systems lose some low-end torque, and with a heavy vehicle, i really don't want to lose any low-end grunt. Also, the Magnaflow has a real nice mellow tone when cruising. I had a Borla exhaust on my 2000 T/A, and it was real loud after awhile. Also, an intake is a good idea, i have an Air Raid on mine, it did wake it up on the low end a little and pretty good on the top end as well. Gotta get more air in and out to make a bigger difference. I am just waiting to see what Santa brings me (probably nothing)..

It will be Magnaflow for me, si/do with 3" tips..

If you do a search here you'll find that most like the Magnaflow that Mike sells. It's on his website for around $495. All the treads I've read from those who have it love the sound and the power. This is a SI/SO which Mike says makes more over all power on the low end and high end than the SI/DO.

I have the K&N cool kit on my truck. I got it at Advance Auto Parts for $125. I'm happy with it.

Happy Trucking and Merry Xmas

That is what I'm lookin at, but will probably end up with JUST the muffler for sake of cost.
I found another website that has the Flowmaster force 2 dual rear exit, with 50 series muffler for $391.01. That includes shipping, its on justflowmaster.com

Does anyone know the size of the 15821 muffler or product number?

Personally, if you're going flowmaster for the cost, why not JSUT get the Magnaflow muffler? That would be about $80? & to tell you the truth I don't really see the point in getting new pipes unless you think you HAVE to have a bigger/smaller size.
Basically, i wanted to have dual exhaust on my truck. Thats the reason i am going with the exhaust system and not just the muffler.

I imagine that it is 3" in and out on the muffler. The whole system is 3".

The pipes coming from each cat are 2.5inch. That's why I installed a flowmaster y-pipe which is dual 2.5 in and single 3inch out. That's probably the best combination. SI/SO will flow better than SI/DO because most SI/SO mufflers are a straight through design. That being said, a lot of the otherwise obnoxiously loud flowmaster mufflers won't be that loud on these trucks because the 4 cats absorb a lot of noise.

You can hear my dynomax ultra-flo here:

I wrote the article. (sound clips at the bottom)
