Banks Monster Exhaust?

I am thinking about the Banks for the 04 models. Anyone have this setup? I like the single factory exit systems The only thing that would make them better is if they would bend them so they exit more towards the corner of the bed instead of right behind the rear wheel opening.

thanks

dave

I have the Banks exhaust on my 04 and it sounds much better than stock. It does drone a little but it's not annoying IMO.
The install is easy. I did have a problem with the 2.5" U-bolt it broke a tack weld and got all tweaked when I was tightening it to the torque spec. I called banks and they shipped me out a new one promptly.
Overall I can't tell if there was any power increase but I mostly got it for sound and It cost less than the borla or magnaflow which was another plus.

I HAD, past tense, the Banks Monster on my 2005 F-150 Lariat. It made great power, I'm guessing about 20-25hp. Problem was the resonation inside the cab. It was completely unbearable. I was towing a 3500lb trailer and I had a headache after about 20 minutes.

Banks makes great products. For a diesel, I would recommend them in a heartbeat. I would not be able to recommend this exhaust to anyone who can't put up with the noise. It will be on the classified area of the board shortly.

If they're using a straight-through muffler design then it will drone fairly loud. My dynomax muffler gets annoying sometimes, usually not by myself but passengers don't like it, especially the "non-car-guy" people.

Worse comes to worse, if you buy a complete system you can always swap in a different muffler.

Check out ebay. Not too expensive for aluminized 4 or 5 inch diameter cat-back system. $325-380usd.
