Best Supercrew exhaust setup?
I am looking for the best setup for a mellow sound that won't resonate in the cabin. I assume that a new Y is in order regardless of choice. Any suggestions? I will be putting an Airaid on it at the same time....
Thanks
Ken
Thanks

I have the RAVIN Z-55 system. 1 in 2 out. The tips are 3 1/2" exiting at the rear corners at about a 30-45 degree angle. I have no resonance or drone in my cab. I can hear it if I really listen for it or I get on it. I LOVE it though.

I say true dual, then the muffs are up to you. My 50's are deep and mellow like you say you like, but since it has broken in I will say its as loud as most trucks running around with pipes on them. No drone though, yes you hear it, but it shouldn't bother you unless you sit in the back seat. I paid 350 for my 2 50 series delta flows and 18x3_1/2 tips. Airaid will liven the exhaust up quite a bit too.

Ok, so true duals... Sorry to sound ingnorant, but coming off the engine there is a Y, one cat converter. Replace the stock Y as everyone says and then a true dual cat-back? Or am I supposed to replace the Y, add 2 Flowmaster 70's and the rest of the pipe will be custom?
Thanks in advance,
Ken

They will split the y, and run 2 muffs and pipes seperate. Then you can add an H pipe or X pipe for more torque. I'm starting to hear the new Y pipe is a good way to go but its all up to what you want.
ok your system if its like mine should have two pipes and 2 converters on both sides then into a factory y-pipe just have the y pipe cut out and they will rune pipes from both sieds of the motor into 2 flowmaster mufflers and some choice tips!

First of all, thanks guys. This forum is great... especially being a new F-150 owner...
Right about the 2 cats. Should I get an H or an X pipe to keep the flow between the two more consistent? I have heard these can create more torque.
For the flowmaster 70s, do I buy a cat-back, or buy the 70's muffs and tips and have the muffler guys fasion the rest?
thanks again!

Ok, I am going to bite the bullet and go with a spin tech dual. It will X where the factory Y is, each line going into a single muffler, with dual 2 1/4's exiting the right rear stock position. I have read and heard great things about the torque from the X and the cool, mellow sound from spin tech...
Will advise when it is installed.
Update...
I ordered a complete dual setup. It consists of the following:
X pipe, two 2.5" pipes that go into a dual input single 16" spin tech muffler. The muffler has 2 outs which will be 2.25" with oval tips.
I have spoken at lenght with Mike T. and his advice was to go to 2.25 or even 2.0 for each of the pipes going from X to the muffler to keep the velocity of the exhaust up so I don't lose bottom end. I have read a couple of posts about incorrect tube sizing on true duals working against the delay in the cam at low rpms thereby cannibalizing some of the intake charge ending up in lost torque.
What are everyones thoughts on this setup? I haven't installed yet. Products are on the way. Probaby in the next 2-3 days. Should I go ahead and drop the size of the 2 pipes between the X and the muff to 2.0 or 2.25?
Thanks.
