Question Lost torque with new Flowmaster exhaust?

Hello there.

I just came from the muffler shop after having them install a 2 chamber Flowmaster, (3" inlet/outlet) along with a 3" tailpipe that exits much like the Gibson swept side exhaust. The truck sounds great and has a nice rumble. However, it feels as though it is a little "soft" down low now. Is this just my imagination or is this true?

Thanks.

-->Greg

Cool

Hi kwkshift

I had a 40 series flowmaster installed on my truck and lost a little down low also. About a month or so later i had the stock Y pipe replaced.( piece of junk )with a high flow Y pipe, Not only did i gain back the lost power on the low end but midrange power was greatly improved. After this was done i went on a 235 mile trip and averaging 70 mph i got 18 mpg, i could`nt get close to that before.
I got my Y pipe from jeg`s
its called a Y collector part# 389-Y250300A
it cost 37.99 summit has them also for about the same price.
I hope this helps you out.

Larry.
