Question gibson headers

I have found a great deal on gibson headers. Anyone got a set of these? I was going to go with the JBA but these are $200 cheaper for stainless. Any feedback appreciated!!!

sddaytrader,

I just installed the Gibson headers on my new truck and like them. I also had them on my last f-150 a 1994 and had no problems at all with them and they helped the performance on both trucks. I sold the 94 last oct and they were still on and going strong. No complaints at all.

Thumbs up

Try www.truckperformance.com.

Right now they have Gibson SS for $460, JBA SS for $503 and JBA Ceramic's for I think $647.

They make installation sound easy. Hmm....I've read too many posts where it isn't as easy as it sounds, then others it is.

Anyone ever install Gibson or JBA's on an Expy with the 5.4? What about a higher flow y-pipe? Can't seem to find them anywhere but I don't know if the y-pipe would be worth it.

Cool

Hi FamilyRide

A high flow Y pipe is worth it, but only if you want more power and better gas mileage.
I had mine changed and the power and gas mileage i gained was amazing.
I got it from jegs it`s called a Y collector
part# 389-Y250300A it cost 37.99.
Summit has them also, about the same price.

hope this helps you out.

Larry.

Gibson headers are not too bad to install.......the egr tube DID NOT line up well. Be sure to have a blow torch to soften up the metal it won't take much bend to get it to line up.
