Post No Mufflers...................

Well I did it the other day. I took my 40 series delta flow off of my truck and just put a Y pipe in. Holly cow what a difference. It sounds the way that a truck should sound. You hear it a little more from inside the cab but it is sooooo much better.

Did you take it to a shop to take off the muffler and put a piece of exhaust in its place? I have been thinking about taking the muffler off... neglecting the fact that i may loose a little backpressure and police discretion.
I have been wondering if a valved Y-pipe could be installed directly before the muffler. with the Y-pipe splitting off to either the muffler (stock setting) and the other simply bypassing the muffler. You could go back into the exhaust after bypassing the muffler, but it's almost pointless.
By the way. do you have any wav files of the exhaust? Thanks

I had the shop do it. The shop told me that these trucks really don't have that much back pressure. I have not lost any low end power at all the truck seems a lot better. No wave files as of this posting. You will not be disappointed. It is loud but not to loud, passed some cops and never even turn ed there heads. -steve
