Question True dual exhaust

Who makes a good true dual exhaust for the 4.6 extended cab? I checked out Truckperfrmance.com and all of their kits are single muffler style. I like the sound of the Gibson but it obviously isn't going to flow like dual exhaust. People seem to buy it because of its sound. I think the sound fools people into thinking their truck has gained more power than it has. If anyone can give me a good site I would appreciate it. Side exit in front of the rear wheel is not an option for me. I live in an area with 4 monthes of winter. Ford actually recalled the front exit because it was causing the rear brakes to freeze up. This would be extra bad on a 2000 model like mine due to the rear disc brakes. Thanks. Jay.

I've never seen a ready-made "TRUE" dual system for an F150. They may be out there, but don't seem to be common. Mine was custom made by a local shop.

------------------
1997 4x4 Expedition- 4.6L, true dual exhaust w/Ravin DI/DO, K&N air filter, SuperChip, airbox mods, Edelbrock shocks, 285/75R16 BFG ATs, 2000 F150 "XLT" wheels, 4.10 gears, Auburn LS, Clarion In-dash CD player, Smitty Bilt push bars and nerf bars.

2000 4x4 F250 SD XLT SuperCab SWB- 6.8L, Offroad Pkg, Camper Pkg, 4.30LS, Tape & CD player, Remote Keyless Entry, Sliding back glass, tinted windows, 265/75R16 OWL tires, Smittybilt nerf bars & Line-X bedliner.

Cool

http://es.epa.gov/oeca/ore/aed/comp/jcomp/j11.html

#7 covers this. Muffler shops seem to consider this a grey area in some places. From what I can find, the Federal law states the portion of pipe where the cats are cannot be modified. This is the whole headpipe/Y on these trucks. It states you can do duals if dual exhaust systems are offered on similar chassis/models(which doesn't exist in F-150s). The confusing part is where "other vehicles" which come with one cat want to add another to have true duals. I was told this is why NOBODY makes a "true" dual exhaust cat-back kit for F-150s. I'm not an expert, just passing on what information that I could find.

Thumbs up

Thanks Max! Interesting info. I especially like the last sentence in #7 where it's OK to modify the exhaust IF the manu****urer does it on a "newer" model. So, all we need is for Ford to put duals on the '02 trucks & we (I'd) be legal!
