Flowmaster Super 40 compared to Reg 40

I just bought an 04 Supercrew with a 5.4...I was looking around for an upgrade and I was reading the the flowmaster super40 was louder outside but quieter in the cabin than the reg 40....I have a place that will do reg 40 with 3" tips for 225 and the super 40 with 3" tips for 250. Just wanted some advice? Thanks!!!

Is it easy to install yourself? Does it involve weilding?

Welcome Dolemite,
I think that you can get a Flowmaster cat back system, but you have to cut the pipe between the Y and the muffler. Also, I have a high opinion of the welded systems from a muffler shop as opposed to the clamps you are gonna use on the diy systems...Kevin
By the way, 250 is a darn good price form the muffler shop, if that's for dual outs.
