Question Exhaust advice sought

Ok...here's my situation. Fixing to order new 5.4 Supercrew. I want a dual rear exiting exhaist that A) sounds good idling and when you get on it. When I say sounds good, I dont want anything too overly loud but has a nice "throaty" rumble. B) Since it is a supercrew I want it to not be noticable in the cab when cruising. And since there is less wheelbase that isne covered by cab I dont really know what might be best. I was thinking of a flowmaster system but didnt know which muffler...dont know that much about them. Also how much would you expect me to spend. A friend had dual flowmaster put on for $100 plus tips but his is a little too loud. He didnt know which mufflers it was. Thanks for the help.

I also have the Screw and was worried about the interior noise as well. I had the Ravin Z-33 S/I D/O with chrome tips installed. It has a great tone and is very noticeable throughout the entire power curve. It is a definate head turner! The best thing about the Ravin as compared to the FM (which I also have on another vehicle) is that there is virtually no interior noise. You can carry on a conversation even at WOT. You can't do that with the FM. If you are truly worried about the interior noise, you might consider stepping down to the Ravin Z-55. It is not quite as loud, but from what I understand, it sounds identical to the 33's.
Good luck to ya!

It is a S/I D/O system with the tips coming straight out the rear. I hope this is what you mean about how they are run?!?
As for losing low end tourque and power, there is a little bit of a loss. Alot of it has to do with adding the AirRaid intake system at the same time. The engine breathes alot more freely now than it did, and it is alomost too much. I have never experienced a problem with the loss of power, I still pull 3 different trailers ranging from 800LBS to 8750LBS, and you really can't tell any difference. Where you can really see a noticeable difference is in the higher RPM's, the truck just seems to have a limitless amount of power. It will actually take a Mustang GT between 30 and 50MPH, then of course the Stang just runs off and leaves you standing still.
It's just a personal thing, I was willing to take the chance of losing low end power and torque for the sound and looks of the system. I am glad I did. It has paid off with the gain of the upper end RPM's.

Thumbs up

Another kind of exhaust you might want to try is called torpedo. I have it on my truck. It gives it a nice smooth sound that doesnt pop too much and is pretty quiet on the inside. I like it.
