Straight Pipes?
As far as I know, there is no more increase in performance with the straight pipes than with the side-outs. I would personally get the straight back just because it looks better. Overall, dualling out your exhaist will increase performance in the long run, but I don't think there is a difference with the straight pipes.

Before you run "straight-pipes" in Texas, you may want to consider whether local inspections require a muffler?? There are several types of mufflers that have a "straight-thru" core and glasspacks are one of them. With the cat setup on these trucks, you have to get a loud muffler to get much sound out of it. Several come to mind: Flowmaster 40s, Dynomax Ultra-flows, Ravin, and Magnaflow.
