Red face Gibson Stainless or not???

For anyone that has installed or even seen a new Gibson system, preferably the S/S, I'd appreciate some help.

My Swept Side came in packaged as a S/S, all documentation says S/S, but I'm concerned.

I'm far from being an expert in metels, but I'm now having doubts as to whether Gibson packaged this this thing right or not. The part numbers are hand written and barely legable for the most part but on the pipes, they don't appear to have "s" at the end. I started looking because I would have thought S/S would have looked different.

Can anyone help me determine whether it is indeed S/S or not?

FYI. I talked to Gibson. Without any que, they hit my concerns right on the head.

In case it helps anyone else avoid undue paranoia, Gibson uses 409 stainless for their pipes because it's not as brittle as the 304 stainless they use for the tips and muffler. After all, the pipes do have to be bent. The 409 has less chromium than 304 so it also doesn't look as light, it's more blueish or brownish. Also, the 409 does have magnetic properties because of the other metals and the 304 doesn't because of more chromium.

Enough on the properties of metals.

One thing I should have asked them was then why do they advertise the stainless systems as being "for optimum appearance"? Of course they also hit the corrosion resistance (hence a complete warranty including rust through) which is why I bought it. Them dang marketing people!
