Exclamation Looking to switch exhausts.

Ok, so I've had this dynomax thrush turbotube dual exhaust (2.25 inch pipes to 3.5 inch chrome tips) for about 8 months now. I loved it at first. I would drive around and get looks from everyone. It was awesome. But then, I took my truck onto the freeway. The drone with the glasspacks was very obnoxious and I found myself cranking up my stereo just so I didn't have to hear the drone. Also, when I accelerate and get to high RPM it begins to sound like a bumble-bee. Ontop of that, I noticed that I actually lost low end torque. I am about to go off to college and will be commuting with this truck from college station to houston about once or twice a month and I don't know if I can handle the drone on the highway. I like the dual cat-back setup, so I'll want to leave the pipes in place. But now I am only interested in mpg and HP, with sound only a minimal factor. I still want a decent sound, still aggressive and all, but without the highway drone and bumble bee sound. Also, I'm trying to get back some low end torque that was lost with the 33" tires.I was wondering which muffler I should look into getting to replace the dyno-max I have now. I can't break the bank on this or my parents will flip. Looking for a muffler in the 100-200 dollar range. Any help would be appreciated!

Question

How about a DI/DO Floamaster, leaving the same pipes? Just a thought, as I am having an "Exhaust Dilemma" myself!! Doc

Yea man, and if the drone bugs you, look at the delta flow that flowmaster has to offer. It reduced inside cabin drone, but leaves the exterior noise level close to the same. Good luck

Question

Ok. So I went on the Flowmaster website and I liked the DeltaFlow thing they've got. I was interested in the 40 series with the delta flow on it. I wanted to know if anyone had this or the 50 series with the Delta Flow and had any opinions on it. I was worried about the 40 having too much drone in the cab. The 50 is quieter, but is it better for overall performance and sound?
