I was wondering if the Dynomax muffler sounds that are on their web site sound like what anyone has experienced with their set up? And would that sound be the same if just the muffler was swapped out?

Those sounds are poor and not accurate in my opinion. I'm not sure about all their mufflers, but I can describe mine on a 5.4L w/ultra-flow welded. The 4 cats cut the sound down some. Moderate rumble at idle, about as loud as I would not find annoying or interruptive to radio listening on the highway, very throaty under acceleration, roars at WOT. Wife says she can hear me coming many times. This muffler is for those who like loud. Good Luck!!

Thanks Max, I kind of thought that the web site sounds would be a bit unrealistic. I also appreciate your description of your system. I had a 70 series Flowmaster on my old truck and it was just right. From the sounds of it the Super turbo would be the closet thing to that I can find for the price.

I anyone else out there has a wav file of a super turbo let me know I’ll give my email.

You're welcome, The Super Turbo system is much quieter, you're right. Hopefully someone can provide you with additional information. Happy Holidays !!

 

Bob, Just for some reinforcement on the sound of the Super Turbo, I have this muffler on my Expedition and I love it. I had some other mufflers on my X that were to loud. Not that I didn't like it, but over a long trip with the kids it gets annoying. But the Super Turbo only gets loud when you floor it. And I think if you put it on your truck you like it.
