Cool Finally. . . . Flowmaster!

After waiting a month for the muffler to come in (@%#& truckperformance.com) I finally got my 40 Series Flowmaster Delta Flow installed. The muffler was 3"in/dual 2.25" out and the chrome tips were 3.5" by 18". I ran the pipes out underneath the rear bumper.

The sound is AWESOME! It has a nice, loud rumble at low RPM's. It's not quite like my Dad's '78 Vette but it's pretty close. Once I got up to highway speeds I couldn't hear it at all (I had them mount the muffler as far back under the bed as they could).

The muffler and tips were $132 (shipping included). Thanks to Spargo2 the installation was only $75 (thanks Andy). So basically it was the cheapest engine modification and is without a doubt my favorite.

I didn't notice any lose in low end torque. No mileage numbers yet as I just got it done yesterday.

If you want a good loud rumble but nothing obnoxious, I highly recommend the Flowmaster 40 Delta Flow.

Cool

Congrats Tim,
It did sound bad a$$!!! I'm glad you didn't lose any low end. Could you tell a difference?? I'm glad everything went good, and I was glad to meet ya. I should have got the camera out to take some exhaust pics, but I didn't think about it.

Thumbs up

Spargo2,

Yeah, I could definately feel a difference in acceleration. The truck feels faster now anyway.

The sound to me is the best part. It was kind of funny yesterday. When I went to leave the shop I started it up and I thought "I can't hear anything." Then I realized that the two guys with the Dodge Cummins and the Powerstroke were sittin' near me. I probably could have had glasspacks on and I wouldn't have been able to hear them! After I got away from the other two trucks I was very pleased.

Driving into school today was awesome. I park in the garage were allot of the professors park. I was getting some interesting looks as the truck was "thundering" through the parking structure.

Wow, you actually aren't looked down upon. I can't wait to put mine on now. I HATE being a student and driving to school with a loud exhaust. All the genius's look at me pathetically (when I used to have the old truck). I can't wait to stair them in the face with my 4" chrome tip.
