Question Anyone heard of or have Hooker or Edelbrock headers?

Does anyone have or heard of Hooker or Edelbrock headers? According to a friend of mine, Hooker headers are one of the best because of their strength; they're stronger than others where the header connects to the engine block and don't leak or break. He said Edelbrocks are built strong as well. Anyone have any experience with either of these? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I wanted to bring this post back up. I'm thinking of installing headers and I've called Jet Hot Coating and they had Hooker Headers with the coating in stock. Best thing is that they were selling for the same thing uncoated Gibsons and JBAs are going for. Good deal?

Had Edelbrock headers on my '96 Tahoe (along with Edelbrock's cat-back exhaust). I liked 'em a lot.

Have heard that the Hookers are hard to install on the 5.4. On one side, the engine must be jacked up about 3" or so to gain clearance. JBA's slip right in. I don't know about Gibson or any of the others.

Geez, at one time I thought Hooker was the only company that made headers! (back in the later 70's) Hooker made the headers, Edelbrock made the manifolds and Holley made the carbs. That was it! Well except the only after market wheel, Crager S/S.

headers

Jacking the motor is not that big a deal. Raise the motor high enough to clear the mounts, then put the motor mount bolts back in their holes on the motor side and the motor rests on the bolts when you lower it back down. It gives you about 3 inches of room to work. I had to do it when I pulled the oil pan on my F 150.

Headers

You can check companys like JEGS and SUMMIT they have a good range in headers. Go with coated not "painted" unless you want a rusty bunch of pipes in a month.
