Question Please help me out!!

I have a 1998 F-150 4X4. It has the 4.6. I'm adding a couple improvements for towing and all around performance. I want to add the superchip, Airaid, and a cat-back system. I'd like to go with the flowmaster but don't know what series to go with. I'd like the dual pipes going out the back. Has anyone added a flowmaster series that can help me out. Let me know.
Thanks!!

Well I just installed the Flowmaster 50 series and a superchip. Let me just say those two additions were awesome to the power gains I recieved. I went with the 50 series just because of sound reasons. I didnt want it to be to loud. The 50 has a nice rumble to it

Cool

Did you look into the towing for the 50 series? I know different series are meant for different applications. (I think) How much did you spend? Some guy wants $85.00 bucks th o install it for me. He'll weld it one to make it air tight. I figure it wouldn't take him over 45 mintutes at the most. Thats over $85.00 an hour for labor. What do you think?

Im not sure on the towing part but the price really does not sound bad. My complete system was $350. It is dual out with 3.5" chrome tips. The other guys on here may know more about the towing

Hi, your truck is very similar to mine - 1998 4x4 with 4.6L Auto. I put just a flowmaster 50 series muffler on (no fancy tailpipes).
It sounds great. It cost $125 for the muffler and $50 for the install. (That's in Canadian money)
I would definitely recommend getting the 50 series.

For towing performance, I suggest the Gibson single exit exhaust. It is a little louder and deeper than stock, but not much. I chose the Gibson split-rear for the better sound and looks over the single exit. I don't have much experience with the flowmaster, but, but from everything I have read, Gibson is the best towing exhaust.

Duraliner bedliner, Husky floormats, Custom seatcovers (I only cover the leather when I'm really dirty, though), Premier single-lid toolbox

Gibson 2.5" split-rear exit cat-back exhaust, K&N Air Filter

Many more modifications to come

For anyone interested.. I ended up buying a Dynomax 14" muffler. It sounds great. I didn't want as much noise and rumble as alot of guys. The muffler and stainless tip cost me $167.99 installed. I can tell the performance difference and am happy with my decision. Thanks for all the help!!

Red face

I made a mistake on my follow up. It was an Magnaflow muffler not a Dynomax that I had installed. I enjoy the extra performance and nice sound.

I have basically the same truck (4X2) With a flowmaster 50 series, super chip, and airaid. What a drastic difference! If I were you I'd get the Flowmaster 50 delta series. It is supposed to not have the drone the 50 series does about 60 mph. It took me a while to get used to the extra sound but now I love it.
