Post Jardine Exhaust

I am seriously thinking about buying a jardine muffler and dumping it on my 98 4.6l v8. Everything I've heard about the muffler seems to be great and i can get the muffler for $99 and installation and dump for $45. The only thing I'm kind of worried about is how soft it is. From what ive read about jardine on the message boards, it seems like its quiet. Can somebody please tell about which flowmaster series would the jardine be equal to??

In my humble opinion, *nobody* knows more about exhaust pulse and phasing than Jardine. They invented the "Tri-Y" header concept years ago. You might want to talk directly to Jardine about this, they have a web site at www.jardineproducts.com

The Jardine cat-back system for the F-150 V-8 makes about 2 horsepower more than anyone else's cat-back system for this vehicle that we've seen.

The bottom line is that it's your vehicle, and you only have to make yourself happy. If you are happiest with Flowmaster, that's fine too! They now have some models of mufflers that do not "drone" in the cabin at highway cruising speeds, and I think you can pick them up right here in the F150online Digital Marketplace, which you can access from the homepage here.

Good luck!

Cool

I have Jardine catback exhaust system and love it!! I don't know about quiet but mine has a deep throaty sound specially when you get on it!! But yet it doesn't resonate inside the cab. Like Mike T says it makes 2 more hp's than anyone else's system, and that makes a big difference when you're trying to get more bang for your buck!! Good luck!!

CAF150, thanks for the help. What do you mean by no interior resonance? I want my exhaust to be loud but not to loud. My friend has 40-series flows and I would like my exhaust to be slightly quiter than that but I still want it to be heard good.

P.S. I would really like to see some pictures of your truck.

Red98- What i mean by "not resonating in the cab" is that when you get on it the exhaust system rumble does not get loud inside the cab. With the Jardine exhaust system it'll sound deep & throaty but not overly loud!! Give me your e-mail and i'll send ya some pics of my truck!!
